The $48 parcel tax will raise an estimated $8 million annually for nine years for the four-college system that includes Berkeley City College, the College of Alameda and Oakland&#8217;s Laney and Merritt colleges.<\/p>\n<p>The funding from Measure A can only be spent on job training programs, student services and academic classes throughout the system.
