A 42-year-old man who was found early Wednesday at a downtown Fresno intersection died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim, identified in an update as Kyle Beachy of Fresno, was found in the road around 2 a.m. at Divisadero and Abby streets near Community Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n

He had been injured in the upper body, either a stab or gunshot wound, Lt. Marcus Gray III said.<\/p>\n

Beachy was taken to the hospital, where police said he died.<\/p>\n

A homicide investigation was launched and detectives were still investigating Wednesday morning. They believe an altercation involving multiple people may have occurred before Beachy was assaulted.<\/p>\n

The killing was the department\u2019s 12th murder investigation of the year, police said in an update.<\/p>\n
