A grisly discovery in southwest Fresno has added a new layer of uncertainty to an already disturbing homicide investigation<\/a> after authorities recovered a second body from a canal connected to a case involving a slain woman and a missing man.<\/p>\n

The latest find was reported Tuesday when the Fresno Irrigation District alerted police to what appeared to be human remains<\/a> caught against a concrete barrier in a canal near Glenn and Webster avenues.<\/p>\n

Officers responded alongside crews from Fresno Fire, the Fresno Sheriff\u2019s Department and American Ambulance, eventually recovering the body of an adult from the water.<\/p>\n

A grisly discovery in southwest Fresno has added a new layer of uncertainty to an already disturbing homicide investigation after authorities recovered a second body from a canal connected to a case involving a slain woman and a missing man. KMPH<\/p>\n

Investigators said the remains appeared to have been in the canal for an extended period.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not yet identified the individual or determined whether the death is connected to the ongoing homicide case that has gripped the city for weeks.<\/p>\n

The canal is part of the same waterway where 50-year-old Georgiana McGhee was discovered<\/a> on May 10 near Neilson and Hughes avenues, about 4.5 miles away.<\/p>\n

McGhee\u2019s death was later ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n

Police have arrested 48-year-old Boshay Ware in connection with her killing.<\/p>\n

During a recent press conference, Fresno Police<\/a> Chief Mindy Casto said the violence stemmed from a dispute among people who knew each other.<\/p>\n

The canal is part of the same waterway where 50-year-old Georgiana McGhee was discovered on May 10 near Neilson and Hughes avenues, about 4.5 miles away. KMPH<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people all knew each other. It wasn\u2019t random. It wasn\u2019t a street encounter. These individuals were all associates,\u201d Casto said.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, McGhee was severely beaten before being placed in the canal.<\/p>\n

Police also said 55-year-old Jerome Saldivar was attacked during the same incident and has not been seen since May 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeorgiana was severely beaten before being placed in the canal by Boshay Ware, and also, Saldivar, Jerome Saldivar, was severely beaten,\u201d Casto said.<\/p>\n

KMPH<\/p>\n

Authorities have been unable to locate Saldivar and fear he may be critically injured or dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are still unable to locate Jerome Saldivar. We know that he is injured, possibly deceased or in need of help,\u201d Casto said.<\/p>\n

Investigators believe the violence may have been triggered by a dispute involving an RV trailer registered to Saldivar around the time he vanished.<\/p>\n

Casto also noted that Ware does not have a significant history of violent offenses.<\/p>\n

\u201cInterestingly, Boshay Ware does not have an extensive criminal history. He has a conviction for a disturbance and some type of maltreatment of animals, and some property crimes. But no previous violent crime history,\u201d Casto said.<\/p>\n

While the newly recovered body was found in the same canal system tied to McGhee\u2019s killing, investigators have not confirmed any connection between the discovery and the homicide case. <\/p>\n

The California Post has reached out to the Fresno Police Department for additional information.<\/p>\n
