(WFIE) &#8211; Oakland City University President Ron Dempsey says donors are still gathering the $1 million needed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It\u2019s to cover the last two missed paychecks for their employees as well as this coming Friday\u2019s check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He says those donors hope to begin moving the money toward OCU Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.14news.com\/2026\/06\/01\/hopefully-tomorrow-or-wednesday-another-pushback-date-wired-donor-funds-ocu-paychecks\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.14news.com\/2026\/06\/01\/hopefully-tomorrow-or-wednesday-another-pushback-date-wired-donor-funds-ocu-paychecks\/\">[Monday report: \u2018Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday:\u2019 Another pushback on date of wired donor funds for OCU paychecks]<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.14news.com\/2026\/05\/29\/ocu-president-donor-wiring-money-monday\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.14news.com\/2026\/05\/29\/ocu-president-donor-wiring-money-monday\/\">[Friday report: OCU President: Donor wiring money Monday]<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dr. Dempsey tells us they are now caught up with requested transcripts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSo that should continue smoothly from now on,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Employees will be given the option of picking up their check from the campus or having it mailed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dr. Dempsey says once the funds are in their accounts, they will send out an email. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As we reported, most of OCU staff was laid off Sunday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Undergrad programs have been suspended. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The university says they are continuing to offer graduate-level programs and preparing to resume undergraduate operations in the 2027\u201328 academic year.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.14news.com\/page\/14-news-streaming-apps\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"wfie apps\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1780517974_41_3ABJKZTA4RCT5CI42747VCTX3M.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WFIE.
