If it is a Thursday evening in the later part of spring or summer, and you’re spending a few wind-down hours at the Original Farmers Market, chances are good that you’ll find people swaying, twirling, tapping a toe, and savoring the sounds of a live band or music artist.

While the warm-weather Summer Music Series shows haven’t been around since the landmark public market was founded in 1934, the vibrant thrum of horns, guitars, and drums have been adding a summer-style soundtrack to the destination for several upbeat years.

It’s a tradition that is returning June 4, at 7 o’clock, with the plan to keep the instruments vibing each Thursday, or almost, through Sept. 3.

The series is taking a break June 18 for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Fan Zone.

Up first? The Hukliau Hotshots bringing the “Hawaiian Radio Sound” of the 1930s and ’40s.

Fans of funk, R&B, and jazz will want to be at the Louis Van Taylor show June 11, while Pride Night on June 25 will summon the timeless croon-sweet sounds of the George Michael songbook.

American, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Roots are some of the other genres set to captivate the market’s Plaza area as the summer sweetly unfurls.

No ticket is required; simply stop by the Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax for this music-strong observance of summer in Southern California.

What to KnowSummer Music SeriesOriginal Farmers MarketThursdays, June 4-Sept. 3; there will be no performance June 18 as…

[27
48,52,51,47,50,49,8559,49141
post-345809","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-los-angeles","tag-la","tag-la-headlines","tag-la-news","tag-los-angeles","tag-los-angeles-headlines","tag-los-angeles-news","tag-music-musicians","tag-original-farmers-market
["GET
