STANTON, CA \u2014 The two women were killed when they were hit by a BMW in Orange County Monday night were identified as a mother and daughter, police said.<\/p>\n
Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls around 9 p.m. reporting that a BMW had struck two pedestrians at the intersection of Magnolia and Cerritos avenues in Stanton, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, deputies found two women down in the street who had been hit by the vehicle. They were taken to a local hospital where they died of their injuries.<\/p>\n
They were later identified as 34-year-old Gabriela Cruz and 65-year-old Amadelia Cruz.<\/p>\n
Family members told KLTA Amadelia and her husband had flown in from Guatemala to visit Gabby.<\/p>\n
“She was kind, beautiful and just everything you want in a person,” Gabby’s cousin, Amy, told KTLA. “My aunt too. It shouldn’t have happened.”<\/p>\n
