Candidates Democratic Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria, Democratic Sanger City Councilmember Esmeralda Hurtado and Republican Merced City Councilmember Darin DuPont are all vying for California’s State Senate District 14’s seat.<\/p>\n

Assemblywoman Esmerelda Soria addressed her supporters in central Fresno on Tuesday, pleased with the initial results, adding that her numbers looked good.<\/p>\n
She was full of energy as she said she is looking forward to November.<\/p>\n
District 14 stretches from Merced to Coalinga and includes Los Banos, parts of Fresno and Sanger.<\/p>\n

Karen Bass advances to November runoff for LA mayor, ABC News projects<\/p>\n
With just under 50% of the expected votes counted, ABC News projects that incumbent Karen Bass will advance to the November runoff for Los Angeles mayor.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday night, Bass was leading the pack with 37% of the vote. She would need over 50% of the vote to outright win the election and avoid a runoff.<\/p>\n
ABC News has not yet projected who Bass’ opponent will be in the November election.
