SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) \u2014 A suspect who fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash in the city\u2019s Castro District<\/a> overnight Sunday after colliding into multiple dining parklets and a restaurant was taken into custody Friday, according to the San Francisco Police Department.<\/p>\n

Kejwine Patts, 30, of Oakland, was identified as the suspect driver, arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of vandalism and non-injury hit and run for the May 31 incident, according to San Francisco police.<\/p>\n

Police said officers responded at 1:48 a.m. to the 400 block of Castro Street for a report of a solo vehicle collision into a building. At the scene, police located a sedan that was left at the scene but were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring a preliminary investigation, officers learned that the vehicle collided into two different\u00a0parklets and then drove into a business, where the vehicle came to a stop,\u201d wrote police in a news release.<\/p>\n

Ajay Khadka, bar owner at Castro Indian Restaurant, reviewed security video of the car crash and told KRON4, \u201cPeople were just walking around like that second, not even a minute; no one was there. So, thank God nobody got hurt; otherwise, it would be devastating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Khadka said the restaurant is dealing with repairs that may cost as much as $25,000.<\/p>\n

Despite the arrest, this remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is\u00a0asked to contact San Francisco police at (415) 575-4444 or text\u00a0a\u00a0tip to TIP411, starting the message with \u201cSFPD.\u201d<\/p>\n
