SAN JOSE, CA \u2014 \u201cOn May 17, 2026, at 1:22 AM, San Jose CHP officers were in pursuit of a Mercedes.\u00a0 The Mercedes failed to stop and drove into an apartment complex.\u00a0 The pursuing unit located the Mercedes, which had turned around and was facing \u2018nose to nose\u2019 with our patrol vehicle.\u00a0 The passenger officer exited the patrol vehicle and the Mercedes rammed into our patrol vehicle, causing the passenger side door to hit the officer, causing injuries. The driver fled the scene.\u00a0 Officers worked quickly to identify the suspect, and within hours of the incident, the suspect was positively identified. Luckily, our officer did not receive life threatening injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n
