BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 Six days after a man went into the Chase Bank building<\/a> in downtown Bakersfield, announced he had a bomb and held 10 people hostage, the bank branch has reopened.<\/p>\n

The Chase Bank branch, located at Chester Avenue and 17th Street, reopened on Monday morning, a spokesperson for JPMorganChase told 17 News.<\/p>\n

\u2018This was a high stakes game\u2019: Bakersfield police negotiators were face-to-face with bomb, hostage suspect Anthony Searles-Harris <\/a><\/p>\n

The Kern County Superintendents of Schools<\/a>, which has offices throughout the rest of the building, will remain closed until further notice, a spokesperson with KCSOS said.<\/p>\n

The KCSOS spokesperson added that it\u2019s their understanding that the bank is the only part of the building that is open.<\/p>\n

The hostage taker, identified as Anthony Scott Searles-Harris<\/a>, 41, died early on Wednesday after being shot by the FBI.<\/p>\n

The standoff with local and federal law enforcement spanned nearly 15 hours. All hostages, all KCSOS employees, were released with no physical injuries.<\/p>\n
