The Fullerton City Council has announced a public hearing scheduled for June 16, 2026, at 5:30 pm to discuss significant amendments to the General Plan, specifically regarding the Open Space and Conservation Element (OSE). This meeting will take place in the City Council Chamber located at 303 West Commonwealth Avenue.<\/p>\n

Residents are encouraged to participate in the decision-making process by providing input and asking questions. For those unable to attend in person, the public meeting will be accessible via live streaming on the city\u2019s website, as well as on Spectrum Cable Channel 3 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Remote participation will also be available, allowing residents to make oral comments through a computer, smartphone, or telephone.<\/p>\n

The proposed project entails a comprehensive update to the OSE, which involves replacing Chapter 19 of the current General Plan with an updated Appendix M. This change is mandated by state requirements and incorporates several goals, policies, and implementing actions aimed at enhancing the city\u2019s open space and conservation strategies.<\/p>\n

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the proposed amendments are classified as exempt from further review under the Common Sense Exemption, outlined in Section 15061(b)(3). The City Council\u2019s decision on this matter will be final.<\/p>\n
