Oakland County Bar Association Hosting Forums for Judicial Candidates<\/p>\n

(OCBA, June 9, 2026)<\/p>\n

Oakland County, MI \u2013\u00a0Oakland County voters will soon have the opportunity to hear directly from judicial candidates in three upcoming contested elections for Oakland County judgeships. A series of non-partisan judicial candidate forums will provide voters with the chance to hear the candidates speak about pertinent issues before the ballots are cast.<\/p>\n

Persons interested in attending any of the forums must pre-register at ocba.org\/judicial_candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These forums are the result of a partnership between the Oakland County Bar Association, the League of Women Voters-Oakland Area, the Oakland County Legal News and the Oakland County Times with assistance from the Theta Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. The purpose of this partnership is to disseminate information about judicial candidates in their communities to help voters become more knowledgeable and informed, encouraging participation in Oakland County judicial elections.<\/p>\n

The forums are open to the public and will be recorded so they may be available for online viewing or potentially aired on local cable stations where available.<\/p>\n

Additionally, all candidates have been asked to complete a Judicial Candidate Questionnaire. The completed questionnaires as well as specific information about each forum are available on the OCBA website at ocba.org\/judicial_candidates<\/a>. The questionnaires are posted exactly as the candidates submitted them.<\/p>\n

One more forum is being planned in September ahead of the November general election for the 51st District Court race. More information will be provided at a later date.<\/p>\n
