{"id":35457,"date":"2025-11-03T04:22:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T04:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/35457\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T04:22:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T04:22:12","slug":"bobs-donuts-original-sf-location-closes-after-nearly-70-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/35457\/","title":{"rendered":"Bob\u2019s Donuts original SF location closes after nearly 70 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/18BD82556141AA3D8EE8C10B8E3F6968.jpg\" alt=\"Bobs Donuts opens hole-y new storefront on SFs Polk Street\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\"\/>    <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">SAN FRANCISCO &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobsdonutssf.com\/#home1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Bob\u2019s Donuts<\/a> \u2013 one of San Francisco&#8217;s most iconic donut shops \u2013 is closing the doors of its original store after about 70 years of serving sweets.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;It\u2019s never easy to say goodbye,&#8221; the donut shop said in a Sunday evening post on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Rebekah Ahn, who is the daughter of Bob&#8217;s Donuts current owners, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktvu.com\/news\/bobs-donuts-opens-hole-y-new-storefront-sfs-polk-street\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">told KTVU earlier in the year<\/a> that the operators planned to close the location at 1621 Polk St. in favor of a larger spot just down the street at 1720 Polk St., which opened in February.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">She added that the decision to close the original location was also due in part to the business not being able to come to an agreement on a lease with the building\u2019s landlord.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;Although this is a bittersweet goodbye, we\u2019re grateful to continue to be part of this special community at our new location,&#8221; Bob\u2019s Donuts said. &#8220;Thank you to everyone for the continued support throughout our journey, and we\u2019re excited to see you at our new store.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Bob&#8217;s Donuts first opened in the city in the 1950s, and the Ahn family bought the shop from the eponymous originator in the late 1970s. In addition to the new store on Polk Street, the family-owned donut shop already operates two other locations in San Francisco and Mill Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;Bob\u2019s has always been more than just a donut shop,&#8221; the donut shop said in its post. &#8220;It\u2019s a reflection of the incredible community around us.
