<\/p>\nBAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A 22-year-old man was arrested after a hours-long standoff in southwest Bakersfield early Wednesday morning after reports of gunfire.<\/p>\n
The Bakersfield Police Department said that on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at around 4:16 a.m., officers were called to the 4600 block of Country Place Lane in southwest Bakersfield after multiple people reported hearing gunfire in the area.<\/p>\n
Police said officers quickly determined the apartment where the suspect, who was reported to have a rifle, was barricaded and established a perimeter.<\/p>\n
BPD SWAT personnel arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

For multiple hours, call-outs for surrender were made, with the suspect refusing to exit the apartment.<\/p>\n
According to police, eventually a chemical agent was deployed into the apartment and the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Enrique Barraza, got out of the building and was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
BPD said no one was injured.<\/p>\n
