(KFSN) &#8212; The man shot by police in southeast Fresno last Friday has been identified.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Fresno Police Department identified the man as 42-year-old Ricardo Leon of Fresno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The incident happened on June 5 when investigators say Leon came to his family home armed and was not wanted, prompting concern.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">When officers arrived at the home, they say they met with Leon to try and difusse the situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">At one point, police said the man presented a firearm as a threat, and officers opened fire, killing him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Action News returned to the neighborhood Monday and spoke with the suspect&#8217;s mother and sister, who said they were saddened by the death and believe the situation unfolded differently than described by police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Neighbors said the incident came as a shock and ended in tragedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
