An Oakland man has been charged in connection with a vehicle crash that damaged a building and two parklets in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n
The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced that Kejwine Kevin Patts, 30, was charged with three counts of hit-and-run driving and one count of reckless driving.<\/p>\n
Patts was arraigned June 11 and pleaded not guilty to all charges, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n
According to police, officers responded at 1:48 a.m. on May 31 to the 400 block of Castro Street after a vehicle crashed into a building. Investigators determined the sedan had struck two parklets before colliding with a business and coming to a stop.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver left the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified Patts as the suspected driver. Investigators located him June 5 and coordinated his surrender.<\/p>\n
Patts was released on his own recognizance and ordered not to drive between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. He was also ordered to complete a driver’s safety course.<\/p>\n
His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 17 for a pretrial conference.<\/p>\n
