Police said an initial report of an attempted sexual assault was later determined to be a completed sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.berkeleyscanner.com\/2026\/06\/14\/uc-berkeley-crime\/camp-staffer-arrested-child-sexual-assault-uc-berkeley\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">The Berkeley Scanner<\/a> first reported that Wesley was a summer camp staffer and that the victim was a child. The outlet reported that Wesley was arrested on suspicion of sodomy of a minor, lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14 and burglary, citing booking records.<\/p>\n<p>UC Berkeley police did not immediately release the name of the camp, the residence hall where the incident was reported or additional details about the victim.<\/p>\n<p>A university spokesperson told the Berkeley Scanner that the camp was not run by UC Berkeley and that Wesley was not currently affiliated with the university.<\/p>\n<p>The first campus warning was sent Saturday morning after police said they were notified around 1:15 a.m. of an attempted sexual assault in a residence hall.
