LOUIS &#8212; San Diego pitcher <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4228723\/ron-marinaccio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ron Marinaccio<\/a> has been issued a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for hitting Baltimore&#8217;s <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42507\/gunnar-henderson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gunnar Henderson<\/a> shortly before the end of the Padres&#8217; 9-3 victory over the Orioles on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Michael Hill, Major League Baseball&#8217;s senior vice president for on-field operations, concluded that Marinaccio intentionally hit Henderson with the pitch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Padres manager Craig Stammen was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount in connection with that same play, Hill announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">While Stammen elected to serve his suspension Monday night when San Diego visited St. Louis, Marinaccio chose to appeal. Hill said Marinaccio will be eligible to keep playing until his appeal process is complete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Marinaccio hit Henderson with the first pitch of an at-bat, which occurred with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and San Diego leading by six.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Marinaccio was ejected, and Stammen came out to argue and was tossed, too.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 ESPN Internet Ventures.
