RELATED: Former Kern County DA Ed Jagels arrested on alleged DUI: Records<\/a><\/p>\nAccording to the report, officers were called around 4:30 p.m. on June 1 to the area of Stockdale Highway and Calloway Drive after receiving reports of a driver passed out behind the wheel. Police said the driver was later seen swerving through traffic and hitting the center median multiple times.<\/p>\n
Officers pulled over Jagels and said he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and the odor of alcohol on his breath. A breath test reportedly showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.153%, nearly double the legal limit.<\/p>\n

Jagels was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail on misdemeanor charges. <\/p>\n
His bail was set at $10,000. Jagels is no longer listed as in custody. <\/p>\n
The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office stated it will handle Jagels’ case to avoid any conflict of interest. They stated that no criminal charges have been filed yet, as lab tests are pending.<\/p>\n
