{"id":363832,"date":"2026-06-17T04:48:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T04:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/363832\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T04:48:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T04:48:24","slug":"bonnie-tyler-out-of-coma-but-still-very-unwell-after-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/363832\/","title":{"rendered":"Bonnie Tyler out of coma but still &#8216;very unwell&#8217; after surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bonnie Tyler has woken from her coma and is in intensive care, her family says. <\/p>\n<p>According to an update shared on the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/bonnietyler.com\/news\/update-on-bonnies-recovery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">singer\u2019s website<\/a> on Monday, Tyler \u201cis no longer in a coma but remains very unwell.\u201d The Grammy-nominated Welsh singer had been placed in an induced coma after emergency intestinal surgery in May in Faro, Portugal, where she resides. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough [Tyler\u2019s] condition is improving it is a slow process,\u201d reads the update. \u201cHer doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery but it is going to take time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyler, 75, is best known for her 1980s hits \u201c<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/travel\/cruises\/la-tr-cruises-total-eclipse-cruise-bonnie-tyler-20170816-story.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Total Eclipse of the Heart<\/a>\u201d and \u201cHolding Out for a Hero.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Because of her recovery timeline, Tyler\u2019s shows scheduled through August will be canceled or postponed until next year, according to the update. But the singer\u2019s family and team remain \u201chopeful that [her] shows in the autumn will go ahead.\u201d This includes 14 shows scheduled between Oct. 26 and Dec. 17 in Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Wales. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe apologise to all of Bonnie\u2019s fans and to our promoter partners for the disappointment that this will cause but trust that you will understand and bear with us in these difficult circumstances,\u201d the update says. \u201cWe hope to see you next year instead.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The message concludes by thanking Tyler\u2019s fans for their \u201coutpouring of love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBonnie &#8230; is aware of, and very grateful for, your good wishes,\u201d it says. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Bonnie Tyler has woken from her coma and is in intensive care, her family says.
