Officers responded to an incident at 8:48 a.m. in the 1300 block of San Ramon Avenue in Fresno, California on Thursday, June 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

A man was stabbed Thursday morning after allegedly attacking a 65-year-old man with a wrench near Valley Children\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a reported altercation at 8:48 a.m. in the 1300 block of San Ramon Avenue.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they contacted the two men involved.<\/p>\n
According to Fresno Police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega, the victim told officers that a man armed with a wrench and acting erratically \u2014 possibly while under the influence \u2014 approached him and began swinging the tool.<\/p>\n
The suspect allegedly struck the victim, who uses a walker, multiple times in the hands.<\/p>\n
Trueba Vega said the victim used his walker to defend himself before pulling out a knife he kept in the walker and stabbing the suspect in the arm and chest in self-defense.<\/p>\n
The suspect fled the scene, but officers located and arrested him a short distance away.<\/p>\n
He was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries and is listed in stable condition, police said.<\/p>\n
The suspect will be booked into the Fresno County Jail on an assault charge and an outstanding warrant, according to Trueba Vega.<\/p>\n
