OAKLAND \u2014 A 34-year-old man was shot early Saturday in the Uptown district, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The man, an Oakland resident, was in stable condition at a hospital where he was being treated for a leg wound, officials said.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened at about 12:52 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Broadway, which is known for its clubs and nightlife activity.<\/p>\n
According to initial police reports, the man got into a dispute with another man and was shot. What caused the argument has not yet been released.<\/p>\n
The suspect fled before nearby officers got to the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 510-238-3426.<\/p>\n
There have been other shootings, including homicides, in the Uptown Oakland district over the years.<\/p>\n
