Behind the gated entrance off Virginiatown Road near Lincoln sits the type of bright white farmhouse with black shutters that makes drivers slow down and stare.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a Southern home \u2014 we\u2019re calling it the most effortlessly beautiful home in Placer County,\u201d listing agent Jaydee Sheppard<\/a> said. A beat later, she found a bolder comparison to drive home the point: \u201cIt\u2019s effortlessly beautiful. It\u2019s the Margot Robbie of houses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie is a Hollywood star<\/a> known for such unforgettable roles as Barbie in \u201cBarbie,\u201d Harley Quinn in \u201cSuicide Squad\u201d and Naomi Lapaglia in \u201cThe Wolf of Wall Street.\u201d Sheppard\u2019s listing \u2014 the \u201cMargo Robbie\u201d of homes \u2014 is being marketed as a rare, multi-structure estate on 18.2 acres in Placer County.<\/p>\n

Talk about star power. Listed for $3.75 million,<\/a> the property went into contract within five days. Multiple offers came in above asking price, Sheppard said. The sale is pending.<\/p>\n

Sitting at 2905 Virginiatown Road just outside Lincoln, about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, the main house measures 4,828 square feet with six bedrooms and four bathrooms, and is paired with a guest house adjacent to a covered porch and large outdoor fireplace, a pool house and gym building, and an expansive, two-level \u201cevent barn\u201d \u2014 the sort of compound that tries to balance magazine-ready luxury with the everyday rhythms of a family ranch.<\/p>\n

The estate doesn\u2019t feel like a trophy home built to intimidate, Sheppard said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very comfortable, not extravagant in a way that there are columns and big gaudy marble and big finishes,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s just so homey, but it\u2019s so luxurious, the best of the best finishes, and it\u2019s not overly huge, yet it\u2019s large and impressive. People come down that road, and they are completely blown away.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her telling, it\u2019s the kind of place that looks staged even when it\u2019s simply lived in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis one just looks like it\u2019s from a movie,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The main house features an iconic wrap-around porch. Inside, a chef\u2019s kitchen was remodeled in 2024 with a high-end appliance package that includes four ovens, a seven-burner Hallman range with Italian brass trim and a pebble ice machine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis house was made for a family and for entertaining,\u201d Sheppard said.<\/p>\n

Sheppard framed the roughly two-acre pond that stretches across the back of the property as both a visual anchor and a lived-in amenity. The family built a bridge over an arm of the lake.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of homecoming pictures were taken on that bridge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The estate also carries horse-property potential, though it isn\u2019t an active equestrian operation today. Sheppard said there is a barn, along with the kind of infrastructure buyers look for \u2014 round pens, tack rooms and an area that could be used for stables \u2014 giving the next owner room to lean into a more traditional ranch setup.<\/p>\n

The pool house reads less like a cabana and more like a dedicated wellness wing. Sheppard said it\u2019s finished with rubber flooring and includes a sauna and steam shower, offering a true separate-zone place to work out, recover and reset without ever stepping back into the main house. Next to the pool house, the guest quarters are described as a miniature version of the main residence.<\/p>\n

The property\u2019s storybook charm extends to a handcrafted greenhouse the owner built himself for his daughter\u2019s wedding, one of several family projects that dot the grounds.<\/p>\n

The property\u2019s big beautiful barn with a loft doubles as both an event center and practical storage. With a caterer\u2019s kitchen and full bathroom, the event barn has served for everything from church parties to family weddings to a skating rink. There is even a room with lockers holding roller skates, in case a fun occasion calls for scooting across the floor on wheels.<\/p>\n

Housing market analyst and Sacramento appraiser Ryan Lundquist<\/a> said properties like this occupy a thin slice of the region\u2019s real estate world, which is why they can draw attention far beyond Placer County.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a home that checks all the boxes for someone who is looking for an estate with privacy and all the extra stuff people tend to crave such as a pond, ADU, tennis courts, and barn,\u201d Lundquist said in an email. \u201cThis home will appeal to locals wanting a baller estate, but it\u2019s also something that might catch the attention of out-of-towners to see the value the Sacramento region brings.\u201d<\/p>\n

For out-of-town lookers who hail from the San Francisco Bay Area, Lundquist offered a striking comparison. Some 0.2% of all sales in the Sacramento tri-county region in 2026 have exceeded $3 million, whereas 24.4% of sales in San Francisco have closed above $3 million, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realize we are talking about two completely different locations, but it\u2019s incredible to compare how far $3 million goes in the Sacramento region compared to what you can get in the Bay Area,\u201d Lundquist said.<\/p>\n

Multiple offers<\/p>\n

Considering the multiple offers on the property, Sheppard\u2019s price point and marketing blitz for the estate may have hit the right notes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you overprice a house, there\u2019s a risk in that, because it could sit on the market,\u201d she said. \u201cYou can end up selling it for lower than if you priced it right. But if you price it right from the beginning, the market corrects itself, at least within a good range. Like, if you get in the ballpark, the market will correct itself with multiple offers, but you need to pair that with good marketing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seller Jill Nash says the property\u2019s value is as much emotional as it is architectural.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over 25 years, this home has been the center of our family\u2019s world,\u201d Nash said in an email. \u201cWe raised six children, we had four of our children get married on the property. We have watched our grandchildren celebrate birthdays and take their first steps.\u201d<\/p>\n

She ticked off the day-to-day joys that don\u2019t show up in listing photos.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of our favorite memories are fishing in the pond, playing pickleball (on the sports court) and just enjoying time together in the pool,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

That idea \u2014 a home built to hold a crowd \u2014 is central to how Sheppard describes it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey built this to really share it with their friends and their loved ones, and they did,\u201d she said. \u201cThree weddings were on this property, seven more parties than I can count \u2026 Six kids were raised here, grandkids \u2026 so a lot of, a lot of happy memories.\u201d<\/p>\n
