The block party spanned several blocks in the Oak Park community, featuring music, celebrations, and a focus on moving forward as a community. Inside World Class Fades, attendees were offered more than just haircuts. “Checking your blood, checking your heart rate. Just tell people to be more mindful of their issues and if they have any issues or if you’re doing good, and we brought that here this Juneteenth and to our community,” said Andre Lewin, manager of World Class Fades.Free health screenings were provided to help everyone not only look good but feel good. “It’s helping us realize let’s keep progressing and moving forward. Then having it every year is having the community back out, let’s keep moving forward,” Lewin said.Organizers credited Sutter Health as a major supporter of the block party and expressed hopes of attracting even more attendees next year.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter | Find us on YouTube here and subscribe to our channel | Make KCRA a preferred news source in Google\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
