Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post<\/p>\n<p>The event took place on June 21 at Pawradise Park, turning the space into a runway where dogs and their owners walked together to celebrate fashion, creativity, and their <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/16\/lifestyle\/dog-date-afternoon-app-sniffs-out-new-furry-friends-and-forces-owners-to-break-out-of-their-bubbles-it-was-fun-for-me-too\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special connection.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dog-and-human duos vied for top honors in categories like Holiday Couture, Couture Canines, and the Signature Story Runway, each team flaunting its flair and personality before the judges.<\/p>\n<p>Bentley, a Golden Retriever, matched his owner. Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post<\/p>\n<p>Some pups rocked bright, colorful fur\u2014think hot pink\u2014while another channeled Parisian chic in a striped shirt, red beret, and oversized white sunglasses.<\/p>\n<p>Others twinned with their owners in matching dresses and they did not disappoint!<\/p>\n<p>Awards were given for Most Fashionable Dog, Best Matching Duo, and Best Trick.<\/p>\n<p>Margo Dare and her dog Shayna, both dressed in fairy costumes. Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post<\/p>\n<p>Founded by event producer and storyteller Shi Choong, Dare to Strut is considered more than a doggy fashion show.<\/p>\n<p>The event grew out of Choong\u2019s empowerment platform She Dares to Rise, which encourages participants to embrace courage, authenticity and belonging.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers said Dare to Strut keeps that same spirit, inviting dogs and their humans to walk the runway just as they are.<\/p>\n<p>Gail in a beekeeper suit with Honey the therapy dog in a bumblebee costume. Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not about perfection \u2014 the event aims to celebrate confidence and heart while highlighting the deep bonds people share with their pets.<\/p>\n<p>The afternoon also showcased original creations from local and emerging pet fashion designers \u2014 giving guests a sneak peek at the latest trends in pet couture.<\/p>\n<p>Bentley wears some shades on the bright day. Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the runway, visitors browsed local pet vendors, enjoyed music and joined fellow dog lovers for an afternoon full of style and dog-themed fun.<\/p>\n<p>The dog-friendly event coincided with both Father\u2019s Day and National Dog Party Day \u2014 drawing pet parents, animal lovers and plenty of camera-ready canines for a day dedicated to fashion and friendship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Woof!
