Police said they arrested one person at the checkpoint for driving under the influence and cited another three people for driving without a license or with a suspended license.<\/p>\n<p>This was the LBPD&#8217;s third DUI checkpoint set up in East Long Beach this year.<\/p>\n<p>DUI checkpoint locations are typically placed in areas having a reported history of crashes involving impaired drivers, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, according to the LBPD.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\uddde\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Pignataro is an editor at Long Beach Watchdog.
