Are you looking for a fun evening that provides a way to get involved with your community? Saturday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m. the Benito Juarez Foundation<\/a> hosts its annual gala<\/a> to benefit the foundation\u2019s volunteer-run programs.The fundraiser features a night of dinner, dancing and music by the San Jose\/Bay Area based Los Niteliters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is the Benito Juarez Foundation?<\/p>\n

Named after Mexico\u2019s first Indigenous president, Benito Juarez, known for his tireless advocacy for farmworkers, the registered 501(c)3 nonprofit advocates for civil rights and the empowerment of farmworkers and immigrants.<\/p>\n

The foundation was launched in 2016 by Ramona Landeros to assist laborers and immigrant communities dealing with food insecurity and other issues.<\/p>\n

The foundation established an Emergency Food Program<\/a> bringing food to farmworkers and local Indigenous communities and hosts educational workshops<\/p>\n

Where is the gala? How much are tickets?<\/p>\n

The gala will be hosted at the Ben Ali Hall at 3262 Marysville Blvd. in Sacramento. Tickets<\/a> are $50 per person and VIP tables are available for purchase. The price of one ticket helps feed a family of four, according to Landeros.<\/p>\n

The gala also provides sponsorship opportunities for donors who give between $1,000 to $5,000, with each tier receiving perks such as VIP seats, logo\/name recognition at the gala and full page recognition in the event materials.<\/p>\n

Where will the funds go?<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the gala will go to the following programs:<\/p>\n

Distributing essential food supplies directly to farmworker familiesSupporting sustainable farming practices that protect workers and the environmentBuilding collective power for a fairer, more resilient food systemCreating support groups for women and childrenSchool advocacy<\/p>\n
