Acacia Young said she first realized something was wrong when she heard a voice coming from one of the cameras she and her fianc\u00e9 had installed in their home.<\/p>\n
Young said she removed the camera and soon recognized the voice.<\/p>\n
“It was his ex-wife’s voice,” said Young.<\/p>\n
Young said she later found more than a dozen video clips that contained Bell\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n
At first, Bell denied the allegations and referred to them in court paperwork as a \u201csmear campaign.\u201d <\/p>\n
After months of legal back and forth, Young said Bell’s guilty plea brings relief to her family.<\/p>\n
\u201cRelieved, absolutely relieved, because we’ve been trying to convince everyone, you know, of the truth and now we no longer have to do that. She admitted it herself,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n
Young said the family has struggled to regain a sense of privacy and security, ultimately opting to move into another home and replace their Ring cameras. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe tried so hard to try to restore the peace, the security, the privacy. Once you are robbed of that, it’s almost impossible to try to restore that in your home,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n
She said the experience continues to affect the family.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou’re always going to feel like they can do it again, or if they had the opportunity, they would do it again,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n
Young said the family is pursuing additional legal action in civil court.<\/p>\n
NBC 7 reached out to Bell and her attorney for comment but had not received a response.<\/p>\n
