SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON<\/a>) \u2014 A community meeting is being held Wednesday evening in San Jose as city leaders continue the process of renaming Plaza de Cesar Chavez. The effort comes after allegations of sexual abuse<\/a> against the late labor leader prompted officials to review places and monuments bearing his name.<\/p>\n

City leaders are asking the community to help determine what comes next for the downtown gathering space, including possible new names. Wednesday\u2019s listening session will give residents a chance to learn more about the renaming process, participate in small-group discussions, and share feedback through a community survey.<\/p>\n

The meeting will help gather community input before any recommendations are brought forward or decisions are made.<\/p>\n

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Leininger Center at 1300 Senter Road. Those who wish to attend must RSVP<\/a>.<\/p>\n
