If you are a fan of the singer Kate Bush, the novel \u201cWuthering Heights\u201d or just dancing \u2014 especially while wearing red \u2014 the Pacific Beach\/Taylor Library has the activity for you.<\/p>\n

The fourth annual \u201cThe Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever\u201d dance performance is returning to the library\u2019s Taylor Greene at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18. Participants of all ages and dance skill levels are encouraged to wear red as they dance to Bush\u2019s 1978 song \u201cWuthering Heights\u201d based on Emily Bront\u0451\u2019s classic 1847 novel.<\/p>\n

Library branch manager Christina Wainwright said the free Pacific Beach event was inspired by a 2013 dance performance at the Brighton Fringe Festival in the United Kingdom. Since then, fans of Bush and the novel have been learning Bush\u2019s \u201croll and fall\u201d dance choreography and recreating it at venues around the world in July because that is the month of Bush\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

As before, in the weeks leading up to the PB performance, Wainwright and library staff will give free dance lessons. Remaining lessons are at 6 p.m. Tuesday June 30, July 7 and 14, and 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and July 11. All will be outside on the library\u2019s Taylor Greene facing Dawes Avenue.<\/p>\n

Those who cannot attend the rehearsals can also learn the choreography by watching videos online that break all the steps down with detailed explanations. The videos are available at tinyurl.com\/PBWuthering26<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A final rehearsal will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18 right before the performance that everyone is welcome to watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a way to be creative, connect and promote togetherness,\u201d Wainwright said at last year\u2019s performance. \u201cIt celebrates literature and music. \u2026 We are having a good time together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s event drew not only locals, but some from as far as San Francisco because it was the only one of its kind in California, according to Wainwright.<\/p>\n
