The Port of Long Beach officially recognized Bali Express Services\u2019 proactive efforts to establish a Green Truck Corridor between Long Beach and Mexico.<\/p>\n

Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba and Long Beach Harbor Commissioners joined Jacobeth Hern\u00e1ndez Mendoza, Consul for Economic Affairs for the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, and Bali Express Services Company Director Juan Baez in commemorating the company\u2019s commitment to using clean trucks to move cargo along a route spanning roughly 125 miles between the Port and Mexico, the United States’ largest trading partner.<\/p>\n

Hacegaba spoke about the significance of U.S.-Mexico trade, with two-way commerce reaching a record $872.83 billion annually. Nearly 90% of that trade occurs on land, most of it via truck, he added. <\/p>\n

“This is why initiatives like these matter and are making a difference,” Hacegaba said.<\/p>\n

Over the past year, Bali has moved cargo between the Port of Long Beach and Bali Express\u2019 facility in San Diego County and across the Mexican border by using a combination of compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric vehicle trucks. The company, which currently operates 32 CNG and six EV trucks, plans to secure an additional 20 CNGs and 20 EVs this year, including Tesla Semi trucks, Baez said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI applaud Bali Express Services for their vision and leadership in incorporating green technology into their business model,\u201d Hacegaba said. \u201cThese valuable partnerships are critical to our winning strategy. As we build the Port of the Future, partnerships like this will help us meet the challenges of tomorrow by deploying zero-emissions trucks and building greater connectivity across borders.\u201d <\/p>\n

Baez reinforced Bali Express\u2019 commitment to green trucking by announcing the company\u2019s investment in EV trucks. Baez said the company\u2019s goal is to operate a fully zero-emissions fleet of more than 350 trucks by 2040. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply honored to be recognized by the Port of Long Beach,\u201d Baez said. \u201cIn the last 12 months alone, Bali’s green operations were equivalent to removing 1,930 vehicles from the road. We want to show the world that we can green our trucking operations and be a successful business.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Port of Long Beach supports supply chain partners who have made significant strides in greening their operations. Earlier this month, the Port announced the Zero-Emission Truck Early Leaders Award, which rewards businesses that were the first to adopt zero-emissions trucks to serve marine terminals. Bali Express Services is among the 43 companies eligible for the award.<\/p>\n

Last month, the Port of Long Beach signed a memorandum of understanding with The Wonderful Company and Lincoln Transportation Services to establish the world\u2019s first port-powered Green Truck Corridor connecting Long Beach with the Central Valley over the span of roughly 150 miles.<\/p>\n
