He also needs a new contract as a restricted free agent.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a busy week for the Sabres, trading Byram, and forwards <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/buffalo\/news\/2026\/06\/24\/sabres-land-no--4-pick-in-the-draft-after-trading-byram-to-the-blackhawks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jordan Greenway<\/a> forward <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/buffalo\/news\/2026\/06\/24\/sabres-agree-to-send-alex-tuch-to-the-capitals--ap-source-says\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Tuch<\/a>. They also re-signed forward <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/buffalo\/news\/2026\/06\/25\/sabres-sign-forward-zach-benson-to-7-year-deal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zach Benson<\/a> to a seven-year deal.<\/p>\n<p>The Sabres hold <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/buffalo\/news\/2026\/06\/26\/maple-leafs-on-the-clock-with-no--1-pick-in-nhl-draft--sabres-pick-fourth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">picks 4 and 20<\/a> in the first round of the draft, being held in Buffalo.
