The Ducks selected left wing\u00a0Marcus\u00a0Nordmark 28th overall in the First Round of the 2026\u00a0NHL Draft today at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y.<\/p>\n
Nordmark, 18 (5\/4\/08), spent the majority of 2025-26 in Sweden\u2019s top junior league, scoring 14-24=38 points in 25 games with Djurgarden Jr., the sixth-most points by under-18 players. He also made his professional debut with Djurgarden in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), one of just three 17-year-olds with points in the league (one assist in eight contests).<\/p>\n
Anaheim acquired two first-round selections (15th and 29th overall) in the 2026\u00a0NHL Draft from the St. Louis Blues for center Mason McTavish.\u00a0Anaheim then traded the 29th overall pick and the 117th overall pick (fourth round) to Vegas for the 28th overall pick.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 6-2, 190-pound Nordmark\u00a0split the 2024-25 season between Djurgarden\u2019s U-18 team (22-24=46 in 27 GP) and their junior team (9-9=18 in 17 GP), helping both clubs with gold.<\/p>\n
A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Nordmark helped his country to a gold medal at the 2026 U-18 World Championship. He also earned silver at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and led the tournament in points (7-5=12) and goal, the sixth-most points in the tournament\u2019s history. He also earned two bronze medals at the 2025 World Junior A Challenge (1-4=5 in 5 GP) and 2024 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he topped the tournament in points per game (2.00, 5-3=8 in 4 GP).<\/p>\n
His father, Robert, was selected by St. Louis in the third round (59th overall) of the 1987 NHL Draft, appearing in 236 NHL games with the Blues and Vancouver Canucks from 1987-91.
