{"id":379287,"date":"2026-06-29T14:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T14:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/379287\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T14:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T14:24:08","slug":"one-bad-step-one-big-claim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/379287\/","title":{"rendered":"One Bad Step, One Big Claim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 35 million dollar lawsuit has been filed agains the City of San Diego, after an exposed parking meter base in Mission Hills, caused a 70 year old man to trip and fall.<\/p>\n<p>That fall caused the man, who doesn&#8217;t wish to be identified, to suffer a broken neck and back.<\/p>\n<p>His attorney, William Berman, tells NBC 7 the city created a dangerous condition when it removed the parking meter last year, but left part of the base and bolts on the sidewalk exposed.<\/p>\n<p>The man has been released from the hospital, but now requires 24\/7 care at home.
