Council members cited Williams\u2019 longstanding commitment to the community through her service on numerous local boards and commissions, as well as her consistent participation in community events and civic activities.<\/p>\n<p>Council Member Corinne Streng noted that Keego Harbor is experiencing a renewed sense of optimism and momentum, adding that Williams\u2019 dedication and continued community engagement will help the City maintain its positive direction.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview process, Council asked each candidate to share their vision for Keego Harbor over the next five years. Williams spoke about a future centered on reinvestment and community renewal, supported by an engaged, connected, and optimistic community working together to build on the City\u2019s momentum.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbsd.org\/west-bloomfield-preschool-academy-home\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-169777 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/West-Bloomfield-Preschool-Ad.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"862\" height=\"216\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Council also expressed its sincere appreciation to all six applicants who stepped forward to serve. Members were especially encouraged by the number of first-time applicants, recognizing the strong interest residents have in contributing to the future of the community. The Council encouraged all applicants to remain engaged and continue pursuing opportunities to serve on boards, commissions, and future elected offices.<\/p>\n<p>Williams was officially sworn into office during a special City Council meeting held on the morning of June 25. The newly constituted City Council will convene for its first meeting together during the July 14 Study Session. The City congratulates Council Member Williams and looks forward to her service on behalf of the residents of Keego Harbor.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment of Williams to the vacant seat follows the resignation of the former Mayor and long-term council member Rob Kalman.
