\"Pedestrian<\/p>\n

A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle last week in hit-and-run in Sacramento has since succumbed to his injuries, police announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The hit-and-run that seriously injured the pedestrian was reported shortly after 7:45 a.m. in the 3400 block of Ramona Avenue, just west of Power Inn Road in the Ramona Village neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The suspect vehicle hit a parked vehicle that then struck the pedestrian, according to a news release from the Sacramento Police Department<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers arrived and found the injured pedestrian who had suffered life-threatening injuries. The injured man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.<\/p>\n

The suspect vehicle left the scene before officers arrived. Police said officers later found the suspect vehicle abandoned.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Police Department was notified that the pedestrian had died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

The Sacramento County Coroner\u2019s Office will release the name and age of the pedestrian after his family has been notified.<\/p>\n

Detectives from the department\u2019s Major Collision Investigation Unit have taken over the fatal hit-and-run investigation. No arrests in the fatal hit-and-run had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Investigators asked any witnesses with information about this deadly hit-and-run to call the Police Department at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357.<\/p>\n
