FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 Mayor Jerry Dyer announced that Governor Gavin Newsom has signed the state budget, securing the final $100 million commitment to downtown Fresno and Chinatown infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Mayor Dyer said, \u201cThe city is using these funds to remove barriers that have slowed development, including outdated utilities, insufficient parking capacity, and incomplete streets and sidewalks in our city.\u201d<\/p>\n
The final $100 million fulfills the State\u2019s $250 million infrastructure commitment and builds on the City\u2019s previously awarded $43.7 million Infill Infrastructure Grant Catalytic Qualifying Infill Area funding.<\/p>\n
Here is a list of improvements the final $100 million will improve.<\/p>\n
Linear Park: Advancing acquisition, design, and implementation of a planned five-block linear park along the High-Speed Rail corridor to improve walkability, connectivity, shade, and public gathering space.Intermodal Transit Center: Moving forward planning, environmental review, and design for a future intermodal transit center to better connect rail, local transit, shuttles, pedestrians, cyclists, and visitors.Stormwater Enhancements: Delivering stormwater infrastructure improvements to support downtown growth, improve system capacity, and strengthen resilience during major rain events.Utility Upgrades: Continuing targeted utility improvements needed to support housing, mixed-use development, and long-term private investment.Revolving Loan Fund: Expanding gap-financing tools to help move shovel-ready housing and mixed-use projects from entitlement into construction in Downtown Fresno and Chinatown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
