(KGET) \u2014 The attorney who represented Bakersfield Christmas Parade crash defendant Alan Booth over the past two and a half years declared a conflict Wednesday and was relieved as counsel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Moving forward, Booth will be represented by attorney BreAnne Ruelas through the Indigent Defense Program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At Wednesday\u2019s hearing, Ruelas and prosecutor Brandon Stallings agreed to a new trial date of Sept. 21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Booth, 75, faces multiple felony counts in connection with the 2023 crash. His blood alcohol-content was allegedly 0.28%, more than three times the legal limit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In January,\u00a0he was found guilty of misdemeanor DUI charges in a separate case for driving drunk months after the crash. In that case, he drove to Jim Burke Ford to get a tire repaired and was arrested after providing breath samples that returned BAC readings of 0.231 and 0.233%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
