{"id":3829,"date":"2025-10-14T12:20:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T12:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/3829\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T12:20:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T12:20:06","slug":"oakland-county-woman-accused-of-scamming-home-buyers-in-real-estate-fraud-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/3829\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakland County woman accused of scamming home buyers in real estate fraud scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">PONTIAC, Mich. \u2013 An Oakland County woman was arrested for allegedly taking prospective home buyers\u2019 down payments for homes she did not own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to the Oakland County Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Amanda Escalante-Lopez, 28, from Pontiac, allegedly made verbal agreements with prospective home buyers for land contracts and title to homes in Pontiac that she did not own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The victims gave her money, and she, in return, was to give the property to them.
