FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man has died after he was hit and killed while riding his motorcycle in Central Fresno on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
Fresno Police say they received a call about a hit-and-run just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Dakota and Fruit avenues.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s lying in the middle of the intersection. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.<\/p>\n
The victim’s identity has not been released.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, witnesses say the suspect was driving a silver SUV east on Dakota Avenue when they made a left turn to go north on Fruit Avenue. The motorcycle was traveling west on Dakota Avenue when it was struck by the silver SUV.<\/p>\n
The suspect did not stop and quickly sped away from the scene, driving north on Fruit Avenue.<\/p>\n
Fresno police say both the suspect vehicle and the motorcyclist had a green light when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n
The intersection of Dakota and Fruit avenues will be closed for several hours as officials continue the investigation.<\/p>\n
