Welsh lightweight Mason Jones will return to action when he faces off against MarQuel Mederos in Sacramento, USA on August 22.<\/p>\n

Jones, 31, is on a seven-fight win streak and won a fight of the night bonus in his last bout against Axel Sola in March.<\/a><\/p>\n

Jones has built a reputation for entertaining fights, having also picked up a performance of the night bonus for his stoppage against Bolaji Oki in September 2025 in addition to a fight of the night bonus against Mike Davis on his UFC debut in January 2021.<\/p>\n

Mederos battled Chris Padilla to a majority draw in his last bout in April and boasts a record of 11 wins, one loss and one draw.<\/p>\n

Jones has a professional record of 18 wins, two losses and one no contest.<\/p>\n

The UFC’s lightweight division is considered one of the deepest in the promotion, with Justin Gaethje defeating Ilia Topuria<\/a> to win the undisputed lightweight title at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House in June.<\/p>\n

Paddy Pimblett is the highest ranked British fighter in the division.<\/p>\n

Another win over Mederos would bolster Jones’ wishes to fight a top 15 ranked opponent in the division.<\/p>\n

Blaenavon’s Jones spent some of his career training with Team Alpha Male in the California state capital.<\/p>\n

The Golden 1 Center is the home arena for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. <\/p>\n
