(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/body-recovered-from-canal-near-truxtun-avenue-bakersfield-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">woman who was recovered from a Truxtun Avenue canal on June 22<\/a> was identified as 43-year-old Shamika Washington of Bakersfield, according to the Kern County coroner.<\/p>\n<p>Washington\u2019s body was found in a canal in the 1400 block of Truxtun Avenue at about 11:23 a.m., the coroner said. PHOTO: Family of Shamika<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/family-seeks-help-in-finding-42-year-old-woman-last-seen-on-august-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Washington was reported missing last August by her family<\/a>, but was later found that month.<\/p>\n<p>KCSO said a call was made on Monday, June 22, at around 11:39 a.m., for Search and Rescue at the canal near Truxtun Avenue and Empire Drive.
