Joining forces with local and federal agencies is a great way to rely on the different areas of expertise and reduce threats to our environment.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>CSLEA President Alan Barcelona<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"321\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/estuary-500.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13745\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>OAKLAND \u2013 On June 26, 2026, the Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) announced that it had joined a multi-agency task force to target illegally moored boats in the waterway in the Oakland Estuary. The effort brought together local, state, and federal agencies and also utilized the diversity of expertise within OSPR. Disabled vessels in the Oakland Estuary pose threats to navigation, public safety, and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>OSPR\u2019s Northern Field Response team conducted assessments and guided cleanup operations from aboard the Cabezon, OSPR\u2019s Bay Area patrol vessel. The team \u2013 which includes law enforcement personnel, prevention specialists, and response scientists \u2013 was on the lookout for potential petroleum threats and mystery fuel sheens in the area.
