A Fresno home with a picturesque, lakefront view and direct access to the waterway from its backyard has hit the market.<\/p>\n
Located not just within the Woodward Lake community in northeast Fresno \u2014 but on the actual lake \u2014 the home on 541 E. Chesapeake Circle<\/a> offers a rare opportunity to own a house within the Fresno city limits, and enjoy resort-like living, as well as panoramic views of the lake and the Sierras.<\/p>\n The asking price for this 4,197-square foot home, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms on 0.28 acres of land: $1,399,000.<\/p>\n \u201cWaterfront homes in Fresno are definitely scarce,\u201d said Rod Aluisi, the listing real estate agent of the Chesapeake home. \u201cOne that\u2019s this special just doesn\u2019t come up very often \u2014 a home that offers a lot of opportunity for relaxation and entertainment.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just an amazing property. You\u2019re looking to the east from the home, so when the sun sets on the west, the guys on the other side of the lake have to close up their blinds. But the people who live in this home, they can really enjoy the views, the feeling of a lake.\u201d<\/p>\n While this Chesapeake home was custom-built in 1990, the Woodward Lake community has been around since 1985<\/a> and once was considered the \u201ccrown jewel\u201d of Fresno real estate.<\/p>\n Spread across 414 acres, the Woodward Lake community comprises 1,158 single family homes with 201 houses being waterfront properties along the man-made lake.<\/p>\n Woodward Lake itself is 54 acres, features a fountain in the middle, and allows residents the opportunity to fish and boat. Jet skis and other high-speed motorized vessels are prohibited.<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a recreational facility within the community that includes a clubhouse, junior Olympic pool, tennis courts and basketball court.<\/p>\n \u201cThe good thing about Woodward Lake is the water passageway is wide, so there\u2019s a lot of room to play out on the water \u2014 kayak, paddle boat,\u201d Aluisi said. \u201cEveryone will want to party at your house.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s also pretty cool is you\u2019re still in the middle of town. Shopping, golfing, restaurants, they\u2019re all still close by.\u201d<\/p>\n According to real estate data from Zillow<\/a>, 20 lakefront homes at Woodward Lake have sold since August 2023, including 11 houses since March 2025.<\/p>\n At the moment, the Chesapeake house is the only lakefront property for sale in Fresno or Clovis.<\/p>\n There were a couple of homes on the market that offered lake views from a distance, as well as an undeveloped lot with a lakefront view at Quail Lake<\/a> in east Clovis.<\/p>\n Among other features of the Chesapeake house comes are the wood beamed ceilings, built-in cherry cabinets, wood floors, granite countertops and tiled balconies.<\/p>\n The backyard and facing Woodward Lake, the home has a spa, fire pit and boat dock.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you look at the market and what all you get at this home with all the amenities, it\u2019s actually very inexpensive for this size of a house,\u201d Aluisi said. \u201cThe home is luxurious.
