A man was killed Friday after his vehicle struck two other vehicles before going off an embankment and crashing onto Highway 99 in Fresno.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred at 11:28 a.m. near Ventura Avenue and B Street.<\/p>\n

Fresno Police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said the driver was traveling east on Ventura Avenue when he collided with another vehicle at B Street. He did not stop and continued east, striking a second vehicle at C Street.<\/p>\n

The vehicle then left the roadway, went off the Highway 99 embankment, veered to the right, became airborne, overturned and landed on the highway.<\/p>\n

It came to rest in the No. 1 lane near the center divide.<\/p>\n

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Investigators have not determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.<\/p>\n

Lawyer Carter, whose vehicle was struck, said he was traveling with his family toward Kings Canyon when the collision occurred.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just checking on my granddaughter and making sure everybody is OK,\u201d Carter said. \u201cI didn\u2019t even see the car. I didn\u2019t know it flipped over, but it hit us and went that way. It happened so fast. The car came out of nowhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

The following areas are blocked off as police investigate: C street at Highway 99, off ramps at Highway 99\/C Street, southbound off ramp highway 99\/Ventura and three southbound lanes southbound 99 traffic congested and backed up.<\/p>\n

Only one lane is open.<\/p>\n
