It was a special week for Deagan Rose.<\/p>\n
First he de-committed to Oregon State and thanked the coaches for showing interest in him. Later in the day, Rose sent out a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said he was committed to Fresno State.<\/p>\n
With the commitment behind him, Rose showed why he could be the answer for the Bulldogs when he passed for five touchdowns to lead The Bee\u2019s seventh-ranked Cougars to a 45-14 victory over No. 6 Clovis North at Lamonica Stadium on Friday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt mainly came down to just me and my family,\u201d Rose said of his decision. \u201cWe kind of decided this would be what\u2019s best for me going forward, and that\u2019s what we went with and I\u2019m happy with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Getting a commitment from Rose is big for Fresno State considering what they currently have in E.J. Warner, Carson Conklin, Jayden Mandal and Brayden Turner.<\/p>\n
Prior to Friday\u2019s game, Rose had thrown for 14 touchdowns against no interceptions.<\/p>\n
The Cougars have plenty of weapons to surround Rose \u2014 including running back James Curoso who had the first two Cougars touchdowns by way of runs, including a 46-yarder that gave Clovis a 13-7 lead in the first quarter.<\/p>\n
After that, Rose fired off the next five touchdowns.<\/p>\n
Rose reflected back on his commitment and was appreciative of Fresno State.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey didn\u2019t pressure me to do anything; let me figure out what I wanted to do on my own. It definitely helped their case. I\u2019m excited to get in the building as soon as I can and try my best to make an impact.\u201d<\/p>\n
Central East 50, Clovis East 20<\/p>\n
The Bee\u2019s top-ranked Central East is showing no mercy early on in the TRAC.<\/p>\n
The latest team to find out was No. 5 Clovis East.<\/p>\n
Quarterback Jelani Dippel threw six first-half touchdowns as the Bengals rolled to the win at Deran Koligian Stadium.<\/p>\n
The biggest raising eyebrow stat Central East could look at is how its defense has been flying to the ball.<\/p>\n
Central East outgained Clovis East 642-262. Impressive stat for the Bengals.<\/p>\n
Clovis West 29, Buchanan 7<\/p>\n
The second-ranked Golden Eagles are showing they can be as good as the other TRAC teams.<\/p>\n
The latest came against the 12th-ranked Bears in the Golden Spur game.<\/p>\n
Clovis West opened the scoring on JJ Howard\u2019s touchdown pass and never looked back.<\/p>\n
