SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with the homicide of a woman found dead inside a Sacramento apartment on the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Salvador Villalaz was identified through witness statements and arrested without incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. Saturday to a welfare check at an apartment in the 7400 block of Holworthy Way. After receiving no answer at the door and finding it unlocked, deputies entered the apartment and found an adult woman dead, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder and committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. He is being held without bail.<\/p>\n
Crime Scene Investigators and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.<\/p>\n
