CROFTON, Neb. (WOWT) – A 65-year-old man from California died after experiencing an emergency at Lewis & Clark Lake in northeast Nebraska. <\/p>\n
According to a Tuesday news release from Nebraska Game & Parks, Knox County 911 got a call at 3:38 p.m. Monday that a man was hurt while operating a personal watercraft west of Gavins Point Dam. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe caller reported the man was having difficulty breathing and needed immediate medical assistance,\u201d the release states. <\/p>\n
The man, from San Leandro, Calif., was found on his personal watercraft and was loaded onto a pontoon boat to get him to emergency personnel. Crofton Fire & Rescue took him by ambulance to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D., where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
Yankton Search & Rescue and South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks also responded to the incident. <\/p>\n
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is investigating the incident. <\/p>\n
