A luxury farmhouse outside Lincoln \u2014 dubbed the \u201cMargot Robbie of houses\u201d \u2014 has sold for $4 million, closing $250,000 over its $3.75 million asking price.<\/p>\n

The gated property at 2905 Virginiatown Road<\/a>, about 30 miles north of Sacramento, closed after a fast 21-day escrow, according to listing agent Jaydee Sheppard<\/a>, who said the deal reflects what today\u2019s high-end buyers are rewarding: well-kept, classic homes that avoid trend-driven design.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had interested parties calling every other day at least,\u201d Sheppard said in a text message after Monday\u2019s close. \u201cI think it is safe to say that the market favors a home that is well-cared for, very traditional in style and avoids tell-tale fads, and is set up for practical living. Price it well and market the heck out of it, and you will win big.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the home first hit the market, Sheppard quipped<\/a> that it was so \u201ceffortlessly beautiful\u201d that \u201cit\u2019s the Margot Robbie of houses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie is a Hollywood star<\/a> known for such unforgettable roles as Barbie in \u201cBarbie,\u201d Harley Quinn in \u201cSuicide Squad\u201d and Naomi Lapaglia in \u201cThe Wolf of Wall Street.\u201d<\/p>\n

The estate sits on 18.2 acres in Placer County and went into contract less than a week after hitting the market. While the price tag places it in a small tier of the region\u2019s housing market, properties like it can draw outsize attention because they bundle hard-to-replicate features \u2014 privacy, multiple structures and resort-style outdoor space \u2014 into a single offering.<\/p>\n

The Virginiatown Road property was marketed as a multi-building compound anchored by a 4,828-square-foot main house with six bedrooms and four bathrooms, paired with additional guest and recreation spaces. Sheppard emphasized that the home was designed to feel livable and warm rather than overbuilt or showy, leaning into a traditional farmhouse style. The \u201cestate\u201d label was driven as much by the grounds as the interiors: a pond, a pool setup and an event barn intended for gatherings were among the features highlighted.<\/p>\n

Katie Beloberk of Compass<\/a>, who represented the purchasers, said the couple had considered buying land and building a home \u2014 but the listing checked their boxes without the headaches of a ground-up project.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I sent this to (my client), she was immediately drawn in by all the charm and the extra detail and everything else,\u201d Beloberk said.<\/p>\n

Beloberk said the buyers also had practical uses in mind for the acreage and outbuildings, being drawn to the extra garage space to keep classic vehicles there, and enough land to potentially have cattle on the property.<\/p>\n

Beloberk framed the purchase as a move rooted in community ties.<\/p>\n

The main living room features double\u2011decker windows, wood floors and built\u2011in window seats with hidden storage that\u2019s \u201cthe best used 350 square feet ever,\u201d the listing agent said. Ethan Dodge <\/p>\n

The buyers have long-standing ties to the area \u2014 they grew up locally, have children and grandkids nearby, and have run a local business since they were young adults, Beloberk said.<\/p>\n
