(KFSN) &#8212; A Fresno native is on a difficult road to recovery after his family says he lost his left hand while simply trying to clean up firework debris on the northern California coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Action News spoke to the daughter of Jason Turner, who&#8217;s currently living in Crescent City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">She created a GoFundMe after she said her dad was walking along the beach at Point Saint George and picking up trash a day after July 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">That&#8217;s when his family says he picked up a bomb-like device and it exploded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He was rushed to the hospital but his hand could not be saved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">We&#8217;re told he&#8217;s also experiencing vision and hearing loss, along with needing more surgeries at UC Davis Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Turner&#8217;s daughter says he is the sole provider for his family of seven, with two kids still in school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">If you&#8217;d like to help Turner through this difficult time, <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/gofund.me\/54f7bc3c0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" dir=\"ltr\">click here<\/a> to support their GoFundMe.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
